A temple dedicated to Goddess Chamunda is built on a hill called Chotila. Chamunda Mata is the goddess of power and another form of Durga. Her illusion is twin like as she is also called Chandi-Chamunda.
No one is allowed to stay near the temple after the evening Aarti not even the pujaris. This can be stated by the story of a man who slept outside the temple during the night. When, he woke up in the morning he found himself at the bottom of the hill. Its believed there’s a lion who protects the Maa. So, there’s an idol of lion near the Chamunda Maa Temple.
During, Navratri Garba is held near the temple. There’s also a small lake near the temple.
